Band Backer’s Update – June 1, 2024
We threw a lot at you this morning and I promised email follow-ups. This is the first of three emails that you will receive today.
This is our "normal" weekly email. Typically this comes on Friday, but we held off until Saturday this week so that new families could receive it. This is a real time example of what our weekly emails looks like. These come all through the year. Sometimes they are jam packed, sometimes they are short and sweet.
You will also get an email specifically related to the slide decks from this morning and geared to Band Orientation. Last but not least, you will receive an Program Guide Ad Sales Kick-off Email.

High School Graduation - Thursday, June 13, 2024!
The Wind Ensemble will be performing at the SHS Graduation Ceremony on 6/13. Call time for graduations is 4pm (for non-seniors). The ceremony begins at 5:30 and will conclude at around 7:30. Dress is business casual, plan for the weather. If rain is in the forecast and the school postpones the ceremony, the makeup date is 6/14 at the same time.

*New Point-Earning Fundraiser *
This year we’ll be kicking-off a brand new fundraiser through Destination Athlete & Fundraising Solutions. It’s a completely online fundraiser, shared through text, email and/or social media. Family & friends are asked to make a donation to support the Marching Band & Guard (minimum donation amount is $25, a portion of which covers the app fee) which entitles them to a download of the savings app to their phone/tablet (available through the AppStore & Google Play) and a $100 Hotel Voucher.
Have family & friends who aren’t local to Southington? No problem! The savings app uses GPS/ZipCode to offer you savings wherever you are!
We’ve set a fundraising goal for the entire BKMB of $8,000 in donations/sales- but we’ll need everyone’s participation and support to hit our goal! We are asking that each BKMB member gets a minimum of 5 donations/sales.
*Each donation/app sold = 7 points/student*

Ad Sales for the Program Guide Kick Off today. A separate email will be sent with all of the details, but we want to be sure to highlight the the Ad Book is transitioning this year to a digital format. If you were not able to make the Mini Band Camp and need more details on this transition, please reach out to Doug DeBiase for more details. We are hoping that everyone heard about this update, but if enough emails come in, Doug would entertain a quick teams meeting to provide updates for those that need them.
