The Band Backers executive board is elected by the membership. In all offices, co-candidates may be presented for election. Download the Southington Band Backers Club Bylaws.
Presides at all club and e-board meetings, appoints committees, and works to grow membership, promote the program, and act as liaison with school administration.
Manages general operations — pit and prop crews, performance logistics, merchandise sales, and support for band activities. Presides in the President’s absence.
Money in: prepares the annual budget, receives all monies, keeps accurate receipt records, and emails student statements.
Money out: keeps accurate records of expenditures and pays out funds as voted by the club (spending authority under $500; larger requests go to the e-board).
Keeps accurate records of regular and e-board meetings, serves on the Bylaws Committee, and reports upcoming bylaws events.
Our communications hub — sends notices, carries out club correspondence, and maintains the membership list.
Keep our social media and website up to date with current and upcoming events and news.
Accounts for, and communicates about, students’ fundraising points.
Oversees fundraising subcommittees and appoints vice chairs who identify and carry out fundraising activities.
Supports freshmen and new-student parents in understanding what we do and why — and answers any questions sent her way.
Oversee all performances hosted by BKMB and BKWP — assigning area chairs for each event and reporting needs to the board (including Music of the Knight).
Registered band families can browse the member directory and update their own profile.
