The Southington Winter Guard entered its first-ever WGI World Championships seeded 26th — and won gold with a 97.615, the lowest-seeded guard ever to win any class, and the first Connecticut gold in any class in 20 years. The team came home to a police escort, a crowd on the Town Green, and honors from the Board of Education and town council.
