Good evening, Band Backer families. There’s a lot of information in this week’s email, so make sure you read until the end!

Please remember that your student is responsible for their ads. The Program Guide committee will let you know if information, the ad, or the payment is missing, but your student must follow up with the business.
Volunteers Needed
The sign-up pages for the 2023 Season and 2023 MOTK are now active! Please click here:
In order to hold the events listed on the volunteer sign-up pages, we need volunteers!
We are in immediate need of Chairpersons for the following committees:
- Band Camp Picnic
- MOTK Admissions
- MOTK Medical Tent
- MOTK Concessions Co-chairperson/Shadow
- Championship Tailgating
- MOTK 50/50 Raffle Shadow
We also have Board Members that will be completing their last band season when their students graduate in 2024. Recording Secretary, Correspondence Secretary, and MOTK/Winter Program Coordinators are all positions that are voted by the membership of the Band Backers, but if you are interested in seeing what these positions entail, or are interested in helping with the immediate openings for the chairpersons above, please reach out to Dawn Dickau at correspondence@southingtonbkmb.com
Drum Corps in Fairfield, Connecticut, Sunday, July 23, 2023
Drum Corps International (DCI) is returning to Connecticut for the first time in over 10 years! Head to Sacred Heart University this Sunday, July 23rd, to see this exciting performance and support the Connecticut Hurricanes and 7th Regiment, two drum corps located in Connecticut.
Varsity Jackets from Southington Athletic Shop
The Southington Athletic Shop sells the varsity jackets that our students wear. Jackets must be ordered soon to receive in time for the marching band season this fall. The Southington Athletic Shop is having a promotion until August 10, 2023: $50 down payment, balance due at pickup.
The Southington Athletic Shop staff will also be available at SHS on August 21st at noon, to help students choose sizes for their jackets. Please note the $50 deposit promotion will be over at that point, so if you want to take advantage of that promo, get down to the Southington Athletic Shop soon!
